Membership
The Structure
The Global Sports Chaplaincy Association has taken the format of an Organised Movement, also known as a Federal Movement. This allows for a framework with shared core values and strategic objectives. It is a flat, central service oriented leadership with mutual accountability.
Full Member
The title ‘full member’ is the highest membership level within the Global Sports Chaplaincy Association. A full member is responsible for the growth of sports chaplaincy by serving to achieve the mission and vision. The members work closely with the board overseeing the vision’s fulfilment.
Associate Member
The title ‘associate member’ is the second highest membership level within the Global Sports Chaplaincy Association. An associate supports the growth of sports chaplaincy by serving to achieve the mission and vision, although it may not be the individual’s primary ministry focus.
Provisional Member
The GSCA Board appoints new members (with title of ‘provisional member’ for a period of time (~6-12 months) to assess their suitability as candidates for an associate or full member role.
Mentee
The title ‘mentee’ is given to those who were chosen due to their potential to grow and develop sports chaplaincy entities. Mentees have leadership and pioneering acumen as well as a sense of God’s calling.
Emerging Leader
The title ’emerging leader’ is given to those at the beginning of their sports chaplaincy journey. Emerging leaders have completed their training and engage in groups calls. They are responsible for growing interest in sports chaplaincy around the world but are not employees.
